Located in Somerton, Ohio, Somerset Primitives builds hand-crafted, solid wood primitives designed to stand the test of time. We make everything from small decorations to large furniture pieces, such as pie safes, set back cupboards, cabinets, benches, and crock stands. Our products are given a primitive paint finish and the attention to detail that makes each piece truly unique.  We will build pieces to your custom request if you do not see exactly what you are looking for.

Our shop is typically open on weekends and sometimes one night each week.  As we have full time jobs, we do not have the ability to have regular daytime hours.  However, if you would ever like to come and see us on a day that we are normally closed, just give us a shout and if we are home, we will gladly open the store for you to browse.

The photos on the page are items we have built, not necessarily what is currently in stock.  However, if you see something you like, we can give you a quote on price and a time frame for it to be built.  As long as it is an item that we can sell in our shop, we do not require any deposit as we want you to make sure that it is what you want before you purchase.  However, if it is an items that is not necessarily “primitive” and wouldn’t fit in with the feeling of our shop, we would require a partial payment prior to building.  Please browse our photos and let us know what we can build for you.
